Trust the written numbers, not only the spoken words.

Keep your sanction letter, Key Facts Statement (KFS), receipts and repayment schedule. Use this calculator to compare them with the cash flow you actually received and paid.

If the numbers do not match

Ask for the rate in writing

A simple written record makes it easier to question a wrong or unclear loan explanation.

✍️

First ask the bank/lender to write it down

Do not rely only on a verbal % told by a field executive. Ask for the official written loan terms.

Please provide the following in writing on the bank/lender letterhead or through the lender's official email/document: sanctioned loan amount, actual amount to be disbursed, annual interest rate and whether it is flat or reducing-balance, APR where applicable, first EMI/payment date, every instalment amount and date, processing/documentation charges, insurance and all other charges. Please also provide the applicable KFS/sanction letter and repayment schedule.
For applicable retail/MSME term loans, RBI requires a KFS in simple language with APR and an amortisation schedule; third-party charges such as insurance/legal charges must also be disclosed as applicable.
🧾

If the lender still does not explain it

1
Give the lender a written complaint

Attach the sanction/KFS, receipts, repayment schedule and this calculation. Ask for a complaint/reference number and a written reply.

2
RBI complaint for covered banks/NBFCs

If the regulated entity does not reply within 30 days, or you are not satisfied with the response, you can use RBI's Complaint Management System under the current Integrated Ombudsman Scheme.

3
Consumer grievance support

The National Consumer Helpline provides pre-litigation grievance support through its portal, 1915 / 1800-11-4000 and WhatsApp 8800001915.

This website calculates cash-flow cost; it does not decide whether a lender broke the law. Keep original documents and seek professional/legal help for a formal dispute.
📅

Why timing matters

₹70,000 paid after 3 months is not the same cash flow as ₹70,000 paid after 9 months.

💰

Why fees matter

If money is deducted before you receive the loan, the actual amount you got is lower than the sanctioned amount.

🌾

Why this is different

You can enter unequal payments, unusual dates, separate charges and other real-world loan details.
